At Shejav International, we proudly source our essential oils from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, a city renowned for its centuries-old tradition of natural perfumery and oil distillation. Often called the Perfume Capital of India, Kannauj has preserved the art of producing pure, high-quality essential oils for generations.
Our oils are extracted using the traditional hydrodistillation process, locally known as the deg-bhapka method.
In this time-honored technique, copper vessels (deg) are used to steam-distill the finest plant materials.
The vapor carrying the plant’s essence is collected and cooled in receivers (bhapka), capturing the true fragrance, therapeutic properties, and natural purity of the oils — without any chemical additives or solvents.
This slow and meticulous process ensures that every drop of oil retains its authentic aroma, potency, and integrity, making our essential oils ideal for aromatherapy, cosmetics, wellness, and food applications.
